80's Metal

Heavy Fucking Metal & Rock 'N' Fucking Roll!

In this Spooky Season Special issue, we head to LA for an audience with Ghost mastermind Tobias Forge and grill the man himself on the band’s rise to fame and what the future holds.

In other Halloween goings-on, Satanic Doo-Wop couple Twin Temple invite us to tour their creepy and kooky, mysterious and spooky home (after dark, of course), and Creeper lift the (coffin) lid on their incredible, OTT vampire rock opera album.

As we’re in the mood for screaming, we hit Thorpe Park’s rollercoasters with Svalbard frontwoman Serena Cherry, and then swap the screaming for squealing as we venture into Trivium’s Pig Pen – the intimate rehearsal room open to an exclusive group of fans. We meet Better Lovers – the bastard offspring of Every Time I Die and The Dillinger Escape Plan, drumming legend Dave Lombardo gets the Metal Hammer Interview treatment, and Brujeria vocalist and Orange Is The New Black actor Jessica Pimentel reflects on hanging out with Peter Steele and licking Meshuggah’s sweaty faces. Ew.

We investigate Sabaton’s brand new movie, metal queen Doro ponders who will eventually inherit her crown, and Evile’s Ol Drake shows us his record collection (Cannibal Corpse we could’ve guessed… but Camel?!). We sneak into the studio with While She Sleeps, Ithaca’s Djamila Azzouz dishes out her life lessons, and The Used look back on the making of their big emo anthem, The Taste Of Ink.

All this, plus all the essential news and reviews from the world of metal!
